Today the Getrag 245 5-speed for my !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! arrived.
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
Seems in decent shape visually as far as I can tell anyway, will have it checked by an expert-friend before mounting it though.
As far as the engine is concerned: I decided to either mount a complete Tii-engine with Kügelfischer injection or rebuild the current engine to one (seem not to be that different if I'm not mistaken), so plenty of (re-)search to be done. I also have to find a prop-shaft that fits.
The body itself will be sandblasted next week, keep you posted.

Another o2 owner. How much did the trans cost? I have the M10 with a four speed but would really like a five.

I had a tii with the fuel injection and had absolute nightmares with it cold starting that no BMW mechanic could ever diagnose.
I'd suggest going with a dual carb setup, which IIRC is the popular mod.

It was a wicked 750 euro's. Got it somewhere in east-Germany, these are hard to get your hands on over here. Think the guy still has one other lying around if you're interested.

I already have a dual carb setup, twin webers. My mechanic clearly advised the tii setup. I also feared cold starting or getting it running proper anyway but if I don't get it right, he will. Very confident in the guy. You had an original tii?

I did indeed - 1974 2002tii.
Loved the car but starting it on cold New England days was a complete crapshoot. And I don't mean like 0F like it is today, I mean like 30F or so. I can easily understand why people took the system off and went dual carb.

I'm in America. I just need to start searching junkyards for old E21s.
